Prime Minister Gordon Brown, November 2008
In a two day visit on November 2 and 3, Prime Minister Gordon Brown visited Qatar for the first time accompanied by two Cabinet Ministers, Lord Peter Mandelson, Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, and Ed Miliband MP, Secretary of State for Climate Change and Energy. Lord Mandelson led a 30-strong delegation of top British businessmen including a number of Chairmen and Chief Executives of FTSE 100 companies.
During his visit the Prime Minister paid calls on HH The Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and HE The PM / FM Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, as well as visiting the Qatar Foundation, Al Jazeera and Ras Laffan Industrial City.
